Lady’s puppies are about 10 days old. They can’t see. They can’t hear. They can barely scoot around and are completely dependent on Lady’s care. She feeds them, bathes them, keeps them warm, and protects them.
We ADORE these puppies. They are so incredibly beautiful and sweet. When you pick them up they wiggle and squirm and sometimes whine. But, as you pull them in close and hold them to your chest, or tuck one under your neck, or they can cuddle up in the palms of your hands, they calm down, relax, and exhale deeply. Then, you know they are at total peace and comfort. They drift right back to sleep.
They still can’t see. They still can’t hear, but they know they are safe. They can feel you nuzzled up to them and it calms them.
That’s how I feel about Jesus and I am like these puppies. I can’t see Him. I can’t smell Him, but I can feel His presence in my life. He has me in the palm of His hand and I am at peace, resting in His care…when I’m in the hands of Jesus.
John 10:28 says, “And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.” Yes…no better place to be.
