SchoolhouseTeachers, a division of The Old Schoolhouse Magazine, is a one-stop website for online homeschooling offering over 300 classes that can be started at any time.
Yes, I do work for The Old Schoolhouse, but I really enjoy the classes offered. My children are getting a first-rate education for a fraction of the price of most curriculum. For an average price of $139 a year (and sometimes you can get a great deal when the memberships go on sale), I can educate my children at a fraction of the price of what I would normally pay each year for individual programs and/or books. Courses are divided into these categories:
- Art
- Computer and Technology
- Drama and Speech
- Electives
- Foreign Languages
- History, Geography, and Social Studies
- Language Arts
- Math
- Music
- Nutrition, Health, and Fitness
- Science
- Just for Parents or the Whole Family
- Resources for Members
This is not a sales page for SchoolhouseTeachers. Rather, I wanted to inform other homeschooling families of this great resource. We’ve studied Ancient History, World Geography, Hebrew, and a host of other classes. This year we’ll be studying grammar, Christian Values in J.R.R. Tolkein, economics, as well as several of their other courses. With every course being online, it’s easily accessible wherever we may be. The kids can take school with them on the road. Some of the courses offer instructional videos and others must be read through.
The teachers are easily reachable to answer any questions and speaking of the teachers…they are phenomenal. They truly have a passion for what they do. These men and women have been in their respective fields for a long time (attorneys, science teachers, writing instructors, etc.) and have a knowledge that really shines through in their classes.
Overall, I can’t say enough about this company and the classes. I do earn an affiliate commission from anyone who signs up through me. It doesn’t affect your cost, but it helps us to continue homeschooling our own children. If I didn’t firmly believe in this company, their mission and ministry, as well as the classes offered, I wouldn’t even bring it to your attention. But, I truly love what they do and love to know my children are learning from those who are in their fields and excelling in them.
